Wish List Forum > Printing and Storing "Collaborate" View for Multiple Tasks (DONE)

Hi – if a team uses LP’s Collaborate view heavily, quite a bit of value can be found in the corresponding printout for the various tasks in the project.

The problem is, the printouts are not consolidated, and must be done individually. For small projects, this is not so much of a problem. I can select tasks, print the collaboration view, then print to PDF. Then, I can combine the PDFs together using Acrobat Pro or Preview on a Mac. If you get to a point where you have to repeat this for a large number of tasks on a big project, the difficulty would discourage people from using LP, I think.

At the end of a project, I’d like to be able to print and/or store the Collaborate view, with its Short Description, Discussion, Detailed Notes and so on, not just for one selected task but for an entire hierarchy. That way, if my team members invest time in using this part of LP, I can easily extract the value they have created, by printing to PDF, for instance. A “save to RTF” (or TXT or DOCX etc) function would also be a godsend, because I could then edit the file before presenting to project stakeholders.

Hope this made sense.

Regards,
Rick Cogley

That totally makes sense Rick. Combining them with Preview is a pretty neat trick, I’ve done that a few times. I think this fits in really well with your other suggestion for a way to get all of the attached documents as a single archive.

Yeah, kind of does. You could make something like:

Download a zip of all attachments in folders.
Download a PDF of all Collaboration pages. (Or, “Print All Collaboration Pages”)

regards,
Rick

LP Support:
You can now create HTML and Zip Archives of LP Collaborate pages.
