I really hope that I’m not duplicating someone else’s request…I am very new to the forums (not to liquidPlanner).
A feature we (my team and I) would find extremely useful is the ability to automatically watch tasks based on dependency. That is the ability to kick off an alert email to the owners of dependent tasks upon the completion of their dependencies.
Case example: Last week I had a member of my team sit for a day because the owner of the previous task failed to alert them that the task he was waiting on was complete. An automated notification could easily solve this.
Hoping this is useful to someone else,

We don’t automatically watch things for you, however it’s pretty easy to start watching things. You can either watch an item (or items) by right clicking them and choosing “Watch Selection”, or click on “watch” in the collaborate view. If you are subscribed to the recent changes emails, you will see when any watched task gets changed.
You can also turn on the “watch” custom column .

Thanks for the fast reply on this one.
Lets assume that I am working on task A and my team mate has been assigned task B. Task B cannot start until task A is complete. Right now (unless each team member goes thru the project in detail) there is no easy way for my team mate to know that task A has been marked complete.
Thus it would be nice if my team mate could automatcially be added to the watchlist on my task as her’s is dependant on its completion.

All, I am brand new to LP and am still learning my way around. We are getting ready to adopt LP and I am putting together a “best practices” wiki for internal access. One best practice that I was going to set was for members to “watch” tasks that represent dependencies for their own tasks. The thought came to mind that it would be great if LP could automatically watch those tasks upon which my tasks are dependent. Otherwise, I would have to do in and individually select them all. Then I came across this discussion thread in the forum. I see that it is from late last year. Any updates on this subject?

We actually just added a new feature which should help.
The recent changes email reports will include a line now indicating that all the dependencies for that task have been completed and it’s ready to go. Hopefully this shoul
