New features, including bulk add and duplicate item

Do More in Less Time

In addition to ongoing performance optimization, we’ve added some new features in our latest release that allow you to do more in less time…

Under the ‘add’ menu you now have the option to ‘Add multiple tasks – up to 20 at a time. You can also duplicate any item – project or task – which is especially helpful if you have multiple similar projects and don’t want to have to recreate the structure each time you
add a new one.

We’ve also made some significant changes to the user interface (UI) in this release.

Options formerly located on the ‘document’ tab have been merged into the ‘collaborate’ tab. The new ‘history’ tab shows all of the changes made to the item since its creation.

Under the work detail pane, scheduling options ‘promise by’, ‘delay until’, and ‘on hold’ (formerly ‘don’t schedule’), are now on a new ‘scheduling’ tab.

Nice new features. Bulk add really speeds up time. A couple of quick notes

• Add sample. Nice feature but where can I add my own samples? I’d like to create a template for a release cycle or sprint or whatever you call it and be able to drop a new one in using the add sample feature. I have found the duplicate project action but it is not quite as nice as registering a series of templates.

• Duplicate is nice but it would be better with copy/cut/paste semantics so I could copy an item and then paste it somewhere else without using the drag drop which is somewhat difficult when you need to cross more you leave the border of the tree and force the tree to scroll.

Glad you’re finding the bulk add feature helpful.

Your request for templates is a good one. While I can’t yet say when, I can say this is a feature we’ll eventually add. We’ll also likely build out copy/cut/paste in the coming months. For the time being, ‘duplicate item’ was one way to offer the basic functionality without a massive amount of work on the backend.

@brad – just to echo Melinda, we could get the duplicate feature out right away. To do cut and paste right will take more time and we want to integrate with the clipboard so you can move between applications.
