Help > Collaborating > Email Integration
LiquidPlanner has multiple email integration features to help you communicate more efficiently with your team and get new tasks into LiquidPLanner.
In order to take advantage of our inbound email features, be sure that your email integration setting (Settings > Workspace) is enabled at the desired security level.
Send outbound emails
You can send emails from LiquidPlanner via Actions > Collaborate or Right-Click > Collaborate.
- Send email links to selected items
- Send a task update request to the owner of selected items (works with multiple select)
- Send email to all members in the workspace
- Send a timesheet update request as part of timesheet review
Receive email notifications
In your member profile (Settings > My Profile), you can indicate how frequently you'd like to receive email notifications: never, real-time, hourly, daily or weekly. There are three types of email notifications:
Upcoming Tasks simply presents you with a list of your tasks that are scheduled for the next 4 weeks.
The next two email notifications will be sent to you when certain actions are performed by other people in your workspace. For obvious reasons, we don't notify you of changes that you make yourself.
Recent Changes captures the following:
- Items newly assigned to you
- Changes to items that you already own
- Changes to items that you are watching
- Comments that are addressed specifically to you, or associated to items you own, or associated to items you are watching.
Recent Comments is a subset of Recent Changes, and it captures only the discussion comments.
Reply to comment notifications
When you receive email notification of a recent comment, click the "reply" link within the body of the email. The content of your reply email will be added to the collaborate page of the related item in LiquidPlanner.

Create new tasks via email
- Start by getting the email address of the target container in LiquidPlanner. This can be the address of the workspace, a project, folder or tasklist. To get the address, select the container, then right-click > collaboration > get email address. If you intend to create new tasks frequently in the same container, you'll want to store the container address as an email contact.
- Fill in the “To:” line of your new or forwarded email message with the address of the target container.
- Fill in the "Subject" line using this format: task name, owner, estimate, e.g. Build widget, Charles, 3-5 days. (Only the task name is required.)
- Finally, add any content to the body of the email and attach files as necessary. This will all show up in the Detailed Notes section of the the new task's collaborate page.

Email comments and files directly to an existing task
- To obtain the task's address, select it then right-click > collaboration > get email address.
- Fill in the “To:” or "cc:" line of your email message with the task address.
- The body of your email will show up as a discussion comment for that task, while attached files will show up as file attachments for the task.
