Whiteboard

Just thinking out loud for a way out feature, like a whiteboard tab (see also http://imaginationcubed.com/ ). |
|

That’s kind of fun, probably not something we would add, but it’s pretty fun all the same :) |

a whiteboard isn’t for ‘fun’. If I wanted to have fun I would go outside or play a video game, not play with a whiteboard :) there’s no reason for you to re-invent the wheel, but also no reason not to include the functionality. you could just embed or otherwise link to an existing whiteboard application, and let people choose if they want to use it or not. it would be useful to have whiteboards attached to events. just like it would be useful to have gmail email threads attached, or other types of objects/data. |

Yeah, scope creep! |

@MXWest – Interesting link; thanks for sharing. @All – our team does this all the time with the product. It’s not as fancy as the Cubed thing, but we take pictures of our real whiteboards with our cell phones and attach the images to projects and tasks in LP. We also have a site license for SnagIt, the most awesome screen capture tool ever made. It lets you do everything you’d want to do in terms of marking up and handling simple image files. Whenever we want a “whiteboard”, we create a project or task and just use the document tab’s features for capturing everything. When we upload graphics files we usually also insert them into the detailed description section so they render on the documentation page and we can type words around them. In the future, I would suggest some sort of whiteboard that could be applied to individual tasks/projects and viewable by clicking on the “Whiteboard” tab in the edit pane. Features I’d prefer: - Team Collaboration ( Users can work at the same time on the same whiteboard ) But this is certainly something I wouldn’t expect for a good long deal of time. Whenever you guys can get to it. ;) |

@ aaron, It’s really helpful to know exactly what you’d want in a feature like this – thanks for the specs! It may not be for a (good, long) deal of time, but we’ll surely consider this for future development. |
