What do the icons on my dashboard mean?

What does that “at risk” symbol mean?

It means that the item is at serious risk of not making its promise date. This could be caused by either the work increasing in size or by the task being delayed by other task in front of it.

Additionally this flag may appear when someone specifically “flags” an item by setting a manual flag.

To clear this flag, move the promise date out, change the estimate of work remaining, or clear the manual flag.

You can see the at risk items for the entire space or just those assigned to you by clicking the appropriate link in the space activity section.

What does the “on watch” symbol mean?

Most likely this means that the task was estimated by someone other than the person to whom it is assigned.

It can also mean that the deadline for this task is very close to the expected completion date for the task.

To clear this flag on task assigned to you, you can update the estimate (in the case it was estimated by someone else). For an item with an estimated completion date that is nearing its promise date you can either move the promise date out, or decrease the estimate, or simply accept the risk that you’ll deliver the task late and learn to live with the flag.

You can see the tasks on watch for the entire space or just those assigned to you by clicking the appropriate link in the space activity section.

What does the “needs update” symbol mean?

Well, it means that this task is getting lonely. Nobody has updated it in quite some time and it thinks that according to the schedule someone should have been working on it. To clear this flag you can simply update the estimate or the progress field for this task.

You can see the tasks that need an update for the entire workspace or just those assigned to you by clicking the appropriate link in the space activity section.
