Can I enter estimates in hours instead of days?

For the short-term we can only schedule based on decimals of a day, but we are developing capability to handle hours. Several users have requested this and we realize it’s an important utility, particularly for billing, which is also in development.

If you’re trying to convert days to hours, keep in mind that once you have converted a few common periods of time, e.g. 1 day = 8 hours, 15 minutes = 0.03 hours, it will be easy to recall them as you continue to add estimates. The smallest estimate you can add is .01, a good approximation of 5 minutes (based on an 8-hour day).

Also, since LiquidPlanner relies on ranged estimation, miniscule numbers can somewhat be absorbed in the estimate. Rather than saying something will take exactly six hours with a single point estimate, you can give it a range: .5 to one day (equivalent to four to eight hours). This enables you to manage the project more accurately and provides a work around for the decimal dilemma until we can get hourly estimates in place.
