Hi Rachael, it's not possible in LP.
To add a little color to the answer, we intentionally designed LP to be soft shades of blue that work for everyone and allow alerts and other important status information to stand out. We use red for stuff you should really pay attention to and yellow for stuff that is something you should probably keep an eye on.
In upcoming releases there will be ways to group projects more effectively and other features like tagging and categorizing (e.g. a custom column with a color attribute).
Charles.

Is there a way to change the color of each project as a whole? I am entering around 17 active projects and it would be much easier visually if I could do this.
