User Forum > Tracking action items

Hi,

Does LiquidPlanner have a feature for capturing To-Do items or Action items ? These are items that are too small to schedule as a normal project task and assign a duration. Nor do they have any particular priority or dependency. (E.g "Send email to Ralph about wafer shipment". ) In my use case, these To-Do items are meant to be seen by multiple members of my team and so something like Outlook doesn't work. There are services dedicated for this purpose like ToodleDo/RememberTheMilk and others, but it would be nice to have everything (project tasks and To-Dos) integrated into one software.

Appreciate any suggestions you might have.

Thanks.
Samik Gupta.

Hi Samik,
I would suggest creating a tasklist called ASAP or something similar at the top of your plan. Just drop new tasks in and you can leave them unestimated if you like. This way they are visible to your team, but won't have any major impact.

As a shortcut, I like to mail these types of things into LiquidPlanner. To get a container's email address, right click on it and choose "collaboration / get this item's email address". Once you have sent a task in, most email clients will remember the address and autocomplete it for you in the future. We do this a lot, and it works pretty well.
