Topic: notification of new task assigned to me

The dashboard/notification upgrade is now about 2 weeks from being released (by mid June). You’ll be able to be notified by email when you are assigned new work or changes are made to your items. You’ll be able to see this same information on demand from your dashboard.

Another way to see what has changed, is to use the filter buttons. Go into the estimates or schedule tab. On the button bar, find the button that is (probably) set to “Active Items”. Select this button and you will get a list of quick filters. Check out “Created (last 7d)”. This can be combined with filtering by person, project, or category to zero in on specific changes.

Topic: notification of new task assigned to me

@chris: We’re looking at setting up email notification for this in a future release.

At the moment, you might find it helpful to sign up to get your upcoming tasks mailed to you daily or weekly. That’s how I keep track of what has been recently assigned to me.

For more information on this, take a look at the email alerts help topic.

Topic: Add multiple tasks

Bulk add for new tasks

To add multiple tasks at once (up to 20 at a time!), select “Add multiple tasks” from the add dropdown, like this:

Enter the task name, owner name, and ranged estimate of your work (from low to high). Here is an example:

In case that’s hard to read, it says:

Update forum topics, Melinda, 1-2
Take new screen shots, Melinda, .5-1

Use this format when entering new tasks. Click [Ok] and you’ll see they appear in the same order you entered them under whatever item you had previously selected.

Tip: If you’re entering all of the tasks into one project, create the project first. Leave it selected and then do a bulk add of your tasks for that project. That way they’ll automatically appear as children of that parent project. In case they’re not in the prioritized order you want them, you can then drag & drop them however you like.
