The Collaborate Page
The team at LiquidPlanner has put great effort into bringing you the best collaboration experience possible with a web-based application. To that end, LiquidPlanner has ready-to-write web pages for every item in the plan. You can attach office documents, write rich detailed notes and embed pictures, as well has have an ongoing discussion.
Short Description
Use this section to capture a brief overview of the task. If you entered a description in the task edit pane when you created it, it will appear here.
Discussion (a.k.a workspace chatter)
Discussion comments are a highly visible and interactive means for communicating with your team members. You can address a comment to someone specific by using the format @username. If you use that format, your comment will be sent to that person via email notification, increasing the odds that they will see it even if they are not signed into LiquidPlanner at the time.
All discussion comments (across all items in the workspace) aggregate on the Dashboard home page. To see the chatter for just a specific project or tasklist, just click the chatter link on the project or tasklist Collaborate page.
Chatter is a great way for your team stay connected, especially if members of your team work remotely. You can use this feature to cut down on meeting time and move conversations out of email, where threads get lost easily and are disenfranchised from task work.
Detailed Notes
Click [edit] and the formatting toolbar and text field will appear. Unlike the “short description,” this field is a rich-text editor, which means you can create or paste virtually any content.
Links
Adding a link is helpful when referencing any material on the web. It’s an easy way to embed an essentially limitless amount of information pertinent to the task without copy/pasting the information into the task.
Attached Documents
Click [add file] and then the [Browse…] button to locate and upload any file up to 100MB in size.
Note that this is not an actual document collaboration feature. To edit an attached document, you'll have to save a copy to your hard drive and then upload the edited version.
When you're looking at the collaborate page for a container (project , yellow folder or tasklist), you'll see any documents that were attached directly to that container, as well as any documents that were attached to the container's child items.
Watching an item
Interested in following the activity of an item that you don't own? Go ahead and put a watch on it, and you'll be notified via your Recent Change notifications whenever that item is updated. You can watch any item in LiquidPlanner - a task, tasklist or even the whole workspace! To put a watch on an item, just click the "watch" link in the upper right of the collaborate page, or right click on the task > collaboration > watch selection.
