The Details Page
Each plan item has a Details page, which shows you that item's Description, Comments, Detailed Notes, Links and Attached Documents.
To view the Details page, select the item in the Projects view, then click on the Details icon in the view gallery. You can view, edit or add new collaboration content in the appropriate section of the Details page:

Description
Use this section to capture a brief plain-text overview of the task. If you had entered a description in via the task edit pane, it will appear here.
Discussion Comments
Comments can include any rich-text content, including images. They are a great way to communicate, especially if members of your team work remotely. You can use this feature to cut down on meeting time and move conversations out of email, where threads are easily lost and disconnected from the task work.
- To address a comment to someone specific, use the @username format (e.g. @charles). If you're not sure of somebody's user name, just use the helpful members picker.
- To address multiple (but not all) workspace members, just list each person in the same @username format.
- To address all workspace members, choose @All from the members picker.
- If you have defined teams, you can choose the team from the member picker in order to address just the members of that team..
- When you reply to an existing comment, LiquidPlanner will automatically address your reply to the author of the original comment.
- You will get an email notification when somebody else adds a comment to a task that you own or watch. You won't be notified when comments are added to other tasks unless the comment was addressed specifically to you.
- All comments across all items in the workspace are aggregated in the Workspace Comments section of your Home page.
Detailed Notes
- Detailed Notes can include any rich-text content, including images.
- You might want to initial and date notes as you add them, since LiquidPlanner doesn't do that for you automatically.
- To add a web link in the detailed notes, first paste the link path into the main content area. Then select the text you just pasted in, and click the link icon in the formatting toolbar. Now paste the same link path into the Link URL field and Insert.
Links
- Add links here to any web pages that contain content relevant to your plan item.
- Note that links to files on internal servers (e.g. the file:// approach) will not work in LiquidPlanner.
Attached Documents
- Click the add file button and browse to locate the file(s) that you want to upload.
- You can click one file at a time to upload it, or you can select multiples files and simply drag them all at once into the gray target box.
- Each file can be up to 100MB in size. Total storage capacity for the entire workspace is 50GB.
- Note that this is not an actual document collaboration feature. To edit an attached document, you'll have to save a copy to your hard drive and then upload the edited version.
- When you're looking at the Details page for a container (project, folder or package) you'll see any documents that were attached directly to that container, as well as any documents that were attached to tasks within the container. If you have any filters applied when viewing a container's Files page, some files may be filtered out. For instance, if you work with your Active Items filter on, the Files page for a container will not show you any files for tasks that have been marked done.
- Another way to see a rollup of files for a specific container is to select that container and click the Files icon in the view gallery. Note that a brand new file added here via the Add File button will be associated to the container itself, not to any specific task.
Watching an item
To receive email notifications about changes to an item that you don't own, just put a watch on it.
- To watch an item, just select the item and click the watch button at the top right of the Details page. Or, select the item and go to collaborate > watch for changes. You might want to expose the watch column in your schedule view, where you can also turn the watch on or off by clicking the icon.
- You can watch any item in LiquidPlanner - a task, package, project, folder, or even the whole workspace. (That said, it might be more practical to monitor workspace-wide activity by keeping an eye on the settings > recent edits page.)
