Viewing Tasks

LiquidPlanner gives you more than one way to zero in on either your own tasks or those belonging to other workspace members. (Remember that Restricted Members see only those tasks that live within clients or projects that they have access to.)

Viewing your own tasks

  • In the Projects view, click the "my items" icon to see all tasks owned by you.  Use the filters to further narrow down your tasks by client, project folder, package or state:

  • In the My Tasks view, you'll see all of your tasks across all projects for the next four weeks in either list format or calendar format:

  •  Our calendar integration feature allows you to view your tasks in an external calendar as well.

Viewing another person's tasks

  • In the Projects view, use the owner filter to see only tasks owned by one or more specific owners.  Layer in the other filters to narrow down further by client, project folder, package or state.
  • In the My Tasks view, choose a single person from the Member List menu to see only that person's tasks across all projects for the next four weeks.

Working Efficiently With Tasks

Here are some great features that will help you work as quickly and efficiently as possible:

  • Use the add multiple feature to create up to 30 tasks at a time. You can paste tasks into the 'add multiple' window, which is handy if you want to copy/paste from email or other sources.
  • Learn how to create new tasks via email.  This is a quick to way add tasks to any container in your workspace. If your email has pictures or file attachments, they’ll show up on the task collaborate page.  Note that this feature must be enabled by the workspace owner or co-owner.
  • There's more than one way to open the task edit pane.  In the Projects view, select the task and hit enter on your keyboard; or double-click on the task; or click the edit button >edit item.  In the 'My Tasks' view, click the 'remaining' link to open the edit pane.
  • Heavy editing sessions will be faster and smoother if you pin the edit pane open.  Just scroll from one task to the next without having to open and close the edit pane each time.
  • Use the right-click menu to quickly access functions like reassign, mark done, start timer, and more!
  • You can obtain the URL link to a specific task via the right-click or collaborate menusIt can sometimes be helpful to paste this into an email or into collaboration notes within your workspace.
  • To view task id numbers in your plan, expose the 'Item id number' column by right-clicking anywhere in the plan header row.
  • To search for a task by id number, just type or paste the id number into the Search field.
