Using Timers

Use timers to keep track of the amount of time you spend working on a task.

  • Timers display accumulated time in the HH:MM format, starting at the one minute mark.
  • When you start a timer, it will keep running until you click the timer icon to turn it off, or until you start a timer on a different task.   Only one timer can be active at a time.
  • When a timer is stopped, the accumulated time is held for you.  You can restart the timer to pick up where you left off, or you can apply the accumulated time by logging progress.

Starting and stopping a timer

To start a timer, click the blue timer icon.  When the timer starts running, the icon will turn orange and the bouncing timer bar will appear next to it. To stop a timer, simply click the orange timer icon.

Timers can be started and stopped wherever you see the timer icon:

  • In the the task edit pane
  • Right-Click > Start Task Timer
  • In your "My Tasks" view
  • The "My Timers" column in the Projects view, assuming that you have exposed that column.
  • The top of your workspace, if the desired timer happens to be displayed there.
  • The timesheet
