Native iOS application meets demand for on-the-go access to projects from managers and team members alike.

Seattle, WA – September 20, 2011 – LiquidPlanner 3.0, the game-changing online project management software built on the cornerstones of priority-based scheduling and integrated social features, is available now for the iPad. With the new iPad application (also available for the iPhone), LiquidPlanner 3.0 users gain anywhere, anytime access to their project plans, making it even easier to manage multiple projects, collaborate with their teams, and update their own tasks from their handheld devices.

“We live in a world where the line between ‘work’ and ‘life’ is increasingly blurred,” said Liz Pearce, LiquidPlanner Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Being able to stay connected with your team when you’re on the go – whether at a client meeting or standing in line at the coffee shop—is often critical for getting your job done.”

LiquidPlanner 3.0 is fully configured for the iPad and has been designed as a compliment to the LiquidPlanner 3.0 web application. The iPad app highlights the features that project managers and team members need most on the go, like comment streams, attached files, and task editing. The app lets users browse all of the project schedules and details in their workspaces, whether they have 100 or 10,000 items.

With its fresh social design, LiquidPlanner 3.0 makes collaborating fun and intuitive by using universally-familiar actions to allow anyone (from project managers to developers to designers) to manage projects professionally. The full web-based version of LiquidPlanner 3.0 lets users:

  • Manage multiple clients and projects dynamically in one central place
  • Leverage a flexible structure for prioritizing projects and tasks
  • Collaborate with Facebook-like commenting and sharing
  • Easily track time, review timesheets, and export plan information
  • Store and share documents with team members and stakeholders
  • Get started with a quick imports from Microsoft Project or Excel

LiquidPlanner 3.0 iPad app is free for LiquidPlanner users, and can be downloaded from the Apple Store. It is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and requires iOS 4 or above.

The company is currently developing an HTML5 version of the mobile application for use on the Android and other mobile platforms. The release of that version is scheduled for fall 2011.

LiquidPlanner 3.0 Delivers Radically Simple Online Project Management

Complete product makeover showcases app-style planning features andstreamlined multi-project scheduling; familiar social features accelerate bottom-up collaboration and total team engagement

Seattle, WA – June 13, 2011LiquidPlanner today announces LiquidPlanner 3.0, the game-changing online project management software that raises the bar for simplicity and team productivity. The LiquidPlanner 3.0 design and integrated social features are reminiscent of the iPad, Facebook and Twitter; combined, they create a dynamic collaboration experience that goes way beyond traditional project management tools. LiquidPlanner is also extending its innovative priority-based scheduling system with a new “Packaging” capability, which makes the juggling of dozens of projects easy by providing both macro-prioritization of projects and micro-prioritization of individual tasks.

“There is a social design revolution going on in business software. Just like we learned to design cars around drivers, we are learning to design collaboration software around teams. This effect is accelerating as a new generation of project managers who prefer Facebook and iPads over Microsoft Project start to gain more influence in the workplace,” said Charles Seybold, LiquidPlanner co-founder and CEO.  “LiquidPlanner 3.0 is focused on social project management -- it’s about people working together to get things done.”

LiquidPlanner 3.0 uses universally-familiar actions to allow anyone (even those without formal project management training) to manage projects professionally:

  • Like playlists, shuffle tasks to create "hot" to-do lists that are scheduled automatically
  • Like Facebook and Twitter, post relevant and integrated comments, documents, links and more
  • Like Smartphone apps, drag n’ drop priorities and projects

With its enhanced social environment, team members can easily update progress, chat about project status, share files, track time, and more. For example, every individual update cascades through the system, which dynamically updates multiple project schedules and dashboards in real-time. In turn, these more-reliable schedules provide managers with key resource management insights.

“Our goal is to make it possible for project managers to stay looped in to the minute-by-minute progress, roadblocks and shifting conditions that impact teams,” continued Seybold. “LiquidPlanner provides transparency and lets every team member act as the project manager of their own work. Consequently, the quality of the plan goes way up and project leaders get the information they need to make better decisions.”

LiquidPlanner 3.0 enables teams to operate more efficiently and collaboratively through a central project/portfolio environment, where they can:

  • Distribute project administration work across the team, freeing up project managers to focus on strategic and operational challenges;
  • Become more proactive through better transparency into work assignments, key dates, and team priorities;
  • Have fewer meetings and less email as status updates and communication are centralized and archived for reporting and analysis;
  • Make more money, by focusing teams on the work that will have the biggest impact on the botom line.

LiquidPlanner’s bottom-up environment (with its constant information exchange and transparency) is the way of life for Tangent Engineering. “Our engineers know best how long a project will take, so all hours and estimates are driven by the active participants in the project. Instead of having ‘project robots,’ we put the onus of ownership on them, and the results are better follow-through.” Since using LiquidPlanner, Person estimates that Tangent has seen a 30-40% increase in the amount of projects it can handle.

In a recent interview with Xconomy, “Crossing the Chasm” author and venture capitalist Geoffrey Moore said, “The next big wave of investment in enterprise IT will be around this consumerization of enterprise IT. And it’ll be around, in particular, helping companies communicate, coordinate, and collaborate across company boundaries.”

LiquidPlanner Online Project Management Education Program Offers Free Licenses for Classroom Use

Used by instructors to teach project management and by students to manage group projects and class assignments; live with schools including Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, Tulane, Columbia, Oxford, BYU, and NYU

Seattle, WA – December 14, 2010 – Through its free Education Program, online project management provider LiquidPlanner has found a way to give back by offering free seat licenses for classroom use for both instructors and students. The program has been adopted by more than 1000 students and instructors at schools including Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, Tulane, Columbia, Oxford, BYU, University of Dayton, Louisiana State, and NYU. Students and professors are using LiquidPlanner to manage group projects or as part of their project management coursework.

For professors teaching project management, LiquidPlanner offers a professional tool they can use to better collaborate with students (particularly online in a way that wouldn’t otherwise be available) and augment coursework. For example, they might integrate LiquidPlanner into a class assignment where students must build and manage a project plan and collaborate to complete the project.

For students, LiquidPlanner offers an extremely interactive environment where they gain invaluable real-world experience on how to prioritize, delegate, and collaborate on tasks and assignments within a dynamic team framework.

As an added bonus, having experience with a professional online project management tool is something that a new college graduate can put on their resume as a highly attractive skill and instant credibility for potential employers.

“LiquidPlanner is ideal for instructor use and classroom settings, particularly its dynamic scheduling feature that showcases for students how projects unfold in the real world with changing timelines, task assignments, and completion date estimates, similar to what they would find when they join the workforce as team members or managers,” said Lisa Sieverts, Professor, Marlboro Graduate School.  “Add a really fabulous user interface and you have a powerful and informative tool that helps me and my students make good decisions. We use LiquidPlanner every minute of the work day – each student invites me to their ‘workspace’ making it super easy to view and comment on their project and individual tasks.”

Enrolling in the LiquidPlanner Education Program is easy: instructors and students start-up their LiquidPlanner “workspace” trial account at: https://app.liquidplanner.com/signup, then must show proof of affiliation by downloading and filling out a simple form to get started: http://www.liquidplanner.com/storage/npedu/edu_application.pdf.  Each workspace allows up to 15 seat licenses.  In addition to its Education Program, LiquidPlanner offers a similar program for non-profits.
