Bellevue, Wash.—January 29, 2009—LiquidPlanner, the first online project management software that enables teams to capture and manage uncertainty, today announced that it has been selected as a finalist for the “Breakthrough Start-up of the Year” award by the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA). The awards recognize local companies, individuals, and students who best demonstrate innovation and excellence in creating new technologies, applications, and services.
“Especially in times such as these, it’s inspiring to see companies like LiquidPlanner bring to market innovative solutions to the market,” said Ken Myer, president and CEO of the WTIA. “Washington State continues to be fertile ground for technology companies and it is this spirit of relentless entrepreneurship that we are celebrating with these awards.”
The WTIA will announce the winners at its annual Industry Achievement Awards party on March 25. This year’s celebration, which will be held at The Paramount Theater, also marks the 25th anniversary of the WTIA. The event will be catered by Tom Douglas and will feature interactive gaming lounges, a technology showcase and a look back at the past 25 years of the local technology community.
“LiquidPlanner has taken a completely different approach to project management by applying a new brand of math to an age-old problem,” said Charles Seybold, CEO and co-founder of LiquidPlanner. “To be recognized by the WTIA as a finalist is a true testament to the groundbreaking work that our team has achieved over the course of the past year and we look forward to building on this foundation to change the way teams collaborate and deliver successful projects.
