When Keiko Borkenhagen joined the Support team, cries of Yippee sounded through the office. Excited to have someone new to play work with, we treated Keiko to our New Employee Q&A. Read on to learn what our new support specialist says about happiness, Mondays, lunch, and job interviews.

How does your personality round out your team?

I love to help people, which is core to what Support does. I’m also very easy-going and willing to help out in any way I can, and I think this will help as our team works to meet the needs of a growing business.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Laid back, foodie, helpful.

Your idea of happiness at work is ….

Enjoying the team I work with and the belief that the work I’m a part of brings meaningful benefit to others.

What’s your strategy for Mondays?

Find coffee!

A favorite vacation spot?

Hood River, OR. Great water sports, camping, hiking, beautiful views, great restaurants, wineries and breweries. We go there a few times a year.

How do you beat boredom?

Read a book, call a friend that I need to catch up with, bake some yummy goodies!

What’s your favorite lunch?

Right now I would say a Caribbean roast sandwich.

If you could have any other job, what would it be?

Teach kids how to bake and cook (totally different, I know!)

What music are you listening to these days?

I listen to talk radio a lot, but I like  Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Switchfoot, and Coldplay.

Favorite or most-used LP feature?

I think it’s cool that you can email comments or documents to a task, or email a new task to a project. It makes it so easy to communicate and keep plans up to date!

Three tips for anyone interviewing for jobs right now?

  • Write out the questions that are commonly asked in interviews, write down your answers, and practice repeating your answers out loud.
  • Be ready with specific examples from your career that highlight your successes and challenges.
  • Always, always, always have questions to ask. Even if most of your questions have already been answered, be ready with some unique questions!

Your personal work motto?

Have a good attitude, and be a team player.
