Q & A With Jed Mathison: New LiquidPlanner Employee
During his first week at work, Jed serenaded the whole company with a rap song for us at lunch. And when he’s not singing (country music on the drive in), he’s putting his positive energy into his work. Read on to learn more, and keep an eye out for his thoughts on Monday (really, dude!).
Title and description of what you do:
What was it that made you know LP was the perfect fit for you?
When I met the team I realized I would really want to work with everyone here.
How does your personality or style round out your team?
I’m pretty energetic, I think this is great for sales because it helps us stay positive with every customer and treat every opportunity like gold.
Do you have a ritual or routine to the start of your work day?
Yes! I listen to and sing country music on my drive in to warm up my voice; then I play one AC/DC song when I arrive to get fired up. I also listen to rap most days on my way home from work.
How do you beat boredom?
I don’t think I know what boredom is, I am very easily entertained.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Enthused, caring, relentless.
What do you appreciate the most in your co-workers?
They care about my growth and they put the team first. They also have a pretty good sense of humor.
Your idea of happiness at work is:
Being busy and helping businesses succeed.
If you could have any other job, what would it be?
A favorite vacation spot, and why?
Puerto Escondido, Mexico. It’s a small secluded town in Mexico, the people are incredibly nice, the weather and surf are perfect. I also met my girlfriend there.

What’s your favorite lunch?
Steak sandwiches or pizza.
Your personal work motto:
Look for the silver lining, the best lessons come from the worst mistakes.
What’s your strategy for Mondays?
Mondays are an opportunity to set the tone for my whole week. I actually look forward to the hard work on Mondays.
What music are you listening to these days?
I’m so excited for the holidays that I’m listening to a lot of Christmas music already. It’s driving my girlfriend crazy.
