For most of her career, Chelsey traveled the globe working in a variety of marketing roles, living out of her suitcases. When she decided to unpack her luggage on a more permanent basis, she landed her vivacious spirit at LiquidPlanner, and got our offices so beautifully organized and well-stocked we’re never letting her go (anywhere!). And apparently she has a holiday surprise for us as well. Read on for more fun tidbits.

Title and description of what you do:

Events and Operations Manager. I’m the organized fun maker.

You whipped this office into shape—tell us about your organizing philosophies:

My organizing philosophy is rather simple and is the same as to how I feel about people all over the world: Everyone (or everything in this case) deserves to have a place to call home.

What was your room like when you were a kid?

I had a bright green room that was full of mementos collected from the places I had travelled to and experiences I had been a part of. Pictures of all my favorite people, lyrics and quotes dotting the walls. It was like exploring a really clean city. I also had a loft in my room that I could climb into. It had oversized beanbag chairs and photos of the beach. It served as a great vacay spot from the city (or place to hide when I was in trouble).

You provide us with a lot of great office snacks – what’s your fave treat?

Frozen Mint M&M’s. It’s practically Christmas in your mouth. Because they are seasonal and this will be my first Christmas with LiquidPlanner, the office doesn’t yet know what’s about to hit them.

Do you have a ritual or routine to the start of your work day?

I think I would need someone to follow me around for a month each morning to see if I do the same thing each day.

What is your coffee (or tea) drink of choice?

Americano + Flavor of the Season

How do you beat boredom?

I suffer from a severe case of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), so I am never bored. I actually wish I knew how to be bored sometimes.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

(LTD), Living the Dream.

What do you appreciate the most in your co-workers?

It’s refreshing to see how playful they are, and how easy it is for them to show up and enjoy being at work. I think they must kinda, really like it. And that’s purely contagious if you ask me.

If you could have any other job, what would it be?

I (not so) secretly wish Oprah had relinquished control of her “In Your Wildest Dreams” segment to me so I could make people’s dreams come true.

Since that didn’t happen, I would love to have my own Creative Consulting Agency. I would visit hotels and restaurants, design swag bags and invites, attend events, concerts and conferences all over the world, adding a little whimsy wherever I went.  And then I’d deckhand on a fishing boat in Alaska during my summers.

A favorite vacation spot, and why?

I think it all depends on the category of vacation you are going on. Exploratory: Barcelona. Relaxatory: St. Lucia. But ask me again when I’m done travelling the world in its entirety.

A favorite book?

Is this a trick question? I would err on the side of thinking that anyone who can say that they have one favorite book maybe hasn’t read enough books?

What’s your favorite lunch?

Honestly, I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with lunch. If I really ate all of my favorite lunches, during lunchtime, I would need to ensure that there was a mattress beneath my desk to address the food coma I would then find myself in. But in the off chance that I’m really over-thinking this question, a Whole Foods burger or Homegrown sandwich will always do the trick.

What music are you listening to these days?

Welp, this is a vulnerable question and says a lot about someone. Here goes nothing: The Rescues, The Civil Wars, Typhoon, MS MR, Justin Bieber, Drake, and yes I’m saying it, country.
