Kelsey, our new Account Coordinator, has an impressive work ethic. While earning her B.A. at Washington State University, she also worked at a Superior Courthouse; the U.S. Small Business Administration, was a property manager and – this is our favorite – she was a Washington State Wild Land Firefighter. We’re excited to have her well-rounded talents and go-get-‘em approach as part of our organization. Read on for more details.
What do you do as an Account Coordinator?
My position serves as the initial point of contact for potential or pre-existing customers. After engaging with a prospective customer I get to introduce them to their Product Advisor on our sales team.
How did you know LiquidPlanner was the perfect fit for you?
On the day of my interview I received a grand tour of the company and I got to meet everyone. The company atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. From that point on I knew the LP was something that I wanted to be a part of!
Your favorite LiquidPlanner feature:
The My Work tab is definitely my favorite feature. I really like having a clear and centralized place to find any tasks that are assigned to me. From this particular tab I have access to many tools that are essential to getting my work done and increasing productivity.
How do you stay productive and focused during the day?
I find that I work best when I can go through and unclutter and prioritize my day. I start by checking my email inbox and prioritizing all my emails. Once that’s done I put my headphones on and start chiseling away at the work that needs to be done for the day.
How has using LiquidPlanner affected the way you work?
Prior to LiquidPlanner I was a sticky note landlord. I am a visual person and checklist maker. LP has allowed me to put all my sticky notes in one centralized location. The best part about this is that I never misplace my checklist or to-do items, and I can reflect back to them anytime. As long as I have an Internet connection I am good to go.
What do you appreciate the most in your co-workers?
My co-workers have great attitudes! They are all goal-driven and take a lot of pride in what they do. This makes coming to work refreshing.
Do you have a ritual or routine to the start of your work day?
I always start my day off doing one of two things. I either call my parents on my way into work (they live on the other side of the state so I am unable to talk to them as much as I’d like), or I listen to 100.7 FM, my favorite country music station. There’s something about country music that relaxes me and keeps me in the right state of mind.
Your idea of happiness at work is:
Walking through the doors each day and being happy to be here. I feel like I’ve found a home at LiquidPlanner and I genuinely enjoy walking through the doors every day. I have a great job, great coworkers and I’m lucky enough to work somewhere that I enjoy being at. That’s happiness!
Advice for anyone looking for a job right now—3 interview tips?
1. Make sure to be yourself and relax. Being yourself during an interview will help the company see if you’re a good fit for them and if they’re a good fit for you. I try to approach them as conversations rather than grueling activities. This helps keep my nerves under control.
2. Do your research. Don’t waste the interviewer’s time or your own by coming to an interview and not knowing the basics. Besides, the more you know the more comfortable you’ll be in the interview.
3. Ask questions – lots of them. The more insight you get, the more you’ll be able to decide if the company is the right fit for you.
