Shanna Mikaelian lights up our Sales team as Sales Operations Manager, and we’re so excited she’s here! Shanna brings extensive experience in Sales and Business Operations, and her smarts and enthusiasm is a great match for our teams here. Read on to see how Shanna spends her work days, how she stays focus, a favorite book, and more.

LP: Briefly describe an average work day for you at LiquidPlanner:

Shanna: I start my day with email.  I’m looking for any big dings that might have come in overnight, and I want to make sure the sales team is celebrating all the wins. I check all the sales leader boards in Salesforce in order to keep up with the pace of the business and look for early predictors of progress. Right now I’m spending lots of time learning and evaluating ways of working of the sales team.

How did you know LiquidPlanner was the perfect fit for you?

I was eager to join a Company where I felt I could make a difference to the organization.  I think LiquidPlanner is that place for me.

How do you stay productive and focused during the day?

I’m an email neutral type of person. I cannot end my day if an email has not been addressed. This keeps me moving throughout the day.

What do you appreciate the most in your co-workers?

I love all the energy and amazing talent. I also appreciate the willingness to look at things in a new way to keep us moving forward.

Do you have a ritual or routine to the start of your work day?

Coffee—can’t start much without a cup to clear the fog.

Your idea of happiness at work is:

A day when I made a difference. This can come in the form of me sharing an idea, teaching a skill or just being an ear for someone whose deal didn’t go as hoped.

What book has most influenced your career?

Who Moved My Cheese, by Spenser Johnson. While I do well with change it helped me realize not everyone does and shows me how I can support others when we’re in a changing environment.

Interview tips for anyone looking for a job right now?

Study up on the Company. Come with lots of energy and a desire to win. We are a winning team!

A few things you do outside the office?

I spend as much time as I can with my two teen boys and husband. We are an active Boy Scout family helping out two sons get to Eagle. I also enjoy personal time with a good book and a glass of wine.
