“How hard would this be?”

Adam Sanderson, LiquidPlanner’s Senior Developer, gets asked this question all the time. So, he used the question to launch his RailsConf 2014 presentation, “Unreasonable Estimates and Improbable Goals.” Adam looks at the work that happens away from the heads-down act of writing code. “You can’t work on project management software without thinking about the work of work,” he says.

This smart, informative and lively talk shows how to estimate projects, find the hidden costs and deal with deadlines—especially in the face of potentially unreasonable demands.

Watch the presentation here, and learn how to defend yourself against the “Dark Arts.”
