We’re excited to announce the launch of LiquidPlanner @Work: a new approach to task management designed to help you get things done with ease. We rolled out software improvements to your team on August 8th as part of our latest release.

What is LiquidPlanner @Work?

After conducting a usability research project, we found that managing day-to-day work in LiquidPlanner was overly-complex and could be simplified. LiquidPlanner @Work is a re-design of some of our core features to make LiquidPlanner easier to use and more engaging for the entire team. We put customer feedback, requests, and validation at the forefront and made some changes we think you’ll really like.

What’s new?

The Home tab is streamlined

All of the different comment and activity pages are now combined into a single, powerful workspace activity stream on the Home tab. This new activity stream allows you to see all of the collaboration that is occurring across your workspace. The controls at the top let you adjust the scope of the activity stream so you can focus on the updates and conversations that matter most. You can also take quicker action. Click any plan item and access the stand-alone edit panel right away, and make updates if you need.

New contextual widgets give you glimpses into different areas of your work. Managers have access to widgets that help them monitor things like timesheet status while project contributors see widgets that provide high-level stats about their progress and accomplishments.

My Work is re-designed

My Work melds tasks, to-dos, time tracking, and collaboration into a single view. In-line alerts, customizable columns, and quick access to checklist items make it easy for you to tell what’s important so you can get right to work.

My Work

The new To Do List allows you to quickly capture reminders, ideas, and the little ad hoc things you have to get done throughout your week. When a seemingly simple to-do becomes more involved than you initially thought, you can easily convert that to-do item into a new task so that the work is accounted for in the project plan.

In-line editing lets you make updates and track time more efficiently. You can display up to three columns with the information that is most important to you. Columns like Remaining Effort, Hours Logged, and Deadline are editable directly from the task list.

If you need more information about an item, just click to open the stand-alone edit panel. Make detailed edits to the task from here or jump to the Projects tab to see the task in the context of the plan.

Daily Digest emails are timely and relevant

You’ll get a daily digest email from LiquidPlanner right before your work day starts. This email provides a rundown of your progress each week, shows you what your highest priority tasks are, and surfaces important and even urgent status information. Use the links in this email to jump right to the corresponding area of your workspace. Ever forget to stop your timer? You’ll now get a handy reminder in your daily digest email.

To make sure that you receive these new Daily Digest emails, go to your Notifications page from your User Menu in the upper right and make sure that “Daily Digest” is set to “Workdays”.

Also new, comment notifications will now display the member’s name in the “from” line of the email. This allows you to see who the comment is coming from before even opening the email notification.

 


 

  • My Work and Timesheets are tabs in the main navigation.
  • Search is available across the entire workspace.
  • Workspace Settings are in the User Menu.

Who does this benefit?

These changes benefit everyone in your workspace, particularly individual contributors who use LiquidPlanner for task management.  

 

Do these changes affect the API?

No, the UI changes will not impact the API.
